Creativity sparks creativity and these folks really light my fire! Some of us have been good friends for decades, some of us have played hundreds of hours of music together, some of us have only seen each other a handful of times, and some of us have never even met in real life. Still, from our safely distanced spaces in various states of America, we wielded our creative gifts to collaborate on this song.
Nervous as always, I wasn't sure how well it would turn out. Would it lack the energy of being altogether in a studio? Would it sound canned or bleh? Would the whole thing just fall apart and get stashed away in the 'try again someday' folder? The uncertainty of employing a "brand new to me" method of birthing art into the world was both exciting and nerve wracking... but I did know one thing, I was 100% sure that I wanted to work with this specific group of highly gifted artists.
So, I shared my vision and handed over my trust and I was beyond delighted when each of them delivered the most unexpectedly perfect pieces to my little song puzzle. You may have heard the famous Martin Luther King Jr. quote, “Take the first step in faith. You don't have to see the whole staircase. Just take the first step.” Well, that's exactly what happened here and I couldn't be more pleased with the result.
